Cynical thoughts:
Does discrimination operate in sl re appearance, clothing, movement etc? Due to the seeming reign of the fashionista in sl, I am inclined to transfer ‘first life’ assumptions and say yes.
Does sl mirror fl body image obsession, or is it a chance to fly free? Today’s pavement headline from an American magazine: “A-list bodies, top tips”. Checked an online equivalent to find the copy iss all about healthy eating, but the celebrity photo rather resembles a glamorous avatar.
There is no set age for avatars, so perhaps appearance is purely transitory and irrelevant and collaboration of minds and interests is paramount … despite well-meaning communities, I am very cautious in believing equality flourishes within the confines of such commercial success!
