Trip Journal certainly seems a great app for those tripping around cities and other areas within iPhone range. Ironically, part of the attraction of tripping around is getting out of range. Tasmania's west is still beyond the iPhone, or any mobile phone and walkers are warned. An unmissable sign awaited me at Savage River before meandering up through the rainforest and button grass to a Mt Donaldson summit sunset. This is a practical safety warning but we are now so used to a networked world the warning looks confronting ... a reminder that you are definitely alone in the forest.
