Information literacy blogging has gone nearly full circle back to workplace literacies under the influence of Lloyd and Bruce. Time to evaluate what I have learned about learning, teaching, thinking, critiquing, assessing … we have been drawn into a meta-cognitive dance of twists and turns, and patterns on patterns … an endless array of intertwined abstractions … intelligences, individual learning styles, learning theory, learning modes and the elusive, edgy concept of information literacy. Today’s information literacy will no longer fit tomorrow’s, one workplace literacy often will not fit another, yet the goal is transferability and lifelong development, seeing out changes in technology and the information environment.
